TODAY’S WEATHER

Very stable conditions will affect the North West
Caribbean including Belize.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

Mostly hazy sunshine today and fair weather tonight.

The high temperature will be around high 80 degrees F
after midday. Today winds will blow from the East 5 to
15 Kts.

The sea state will be slight to light chop. Seas will
be 3 to 5 feet beyond the reef.

The outlook is for continuing fair and hazy weather
through Monday.

Central Caribbean:

A 1014 MB LOW IS LINGERING JUST N OF PUERTO RICO NEAR
19N66W WITH A SURFACE TROUGH DRAPED SOUTH
SOUTHWESTWARD FROM THE LOW TO 15N70W MARKED BY A
NARROW LINE OF CLOUDS AND POSSIBLE SHOWERS.
DOPPLER RADAR FROM SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO INDICATES
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SCATTERED ACROSS THE ISLAND
WITH THE MOST SOLID AREA OF RAIN TO THE NORTHEAST OF
THE ISLAND.

SCATTERED SHOWERS/TSTMS REMAIN OVER HISPANIOLA
ENHANCED BY THE LOCAL TOPOGRAPHY. THIS AREA OF
UNSETTLED WEATHER SHOULD DIMINISH LATER THIS WEEK AS
THE UPPER TROUGH TO THE NORTH OF THE AREA PULLS AWAY
AND RIDGING BUILDS IN.

Eastern Caribbean:

FAIR WEATHER EXTENDS ACROSS THIS ENTIRE REGION EXCEPT
FOR THE UNSETTLED WEATHER ACROSS THE E CARIBBEAN AND
CENTRAL ATLANTIC.

Central Caribbean:

A PATCH OF MOISTURE IS OVER HISPANIOLA WHILE ANOTHER
ONE IS MOVING WESTWARD JUST SOUTH OF JAMAICA.

IN THE UPPER LEVELS...ZONAL WLY FLOW COVERS THE ENTIRE
CARIBBEAN SEA.


Eastern Caribbean:

A WEAKENING TROUGH EXTENDS FROM A WEAK LOW NEAR 22N54W
SW TO LEEWARD ISLANDS AND THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN TO
15N64W. THIS LOW IS FORECAST TO DRIFT EASTWARD DURING
THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

THE REMAINDER OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA HAS FAIR WEATHER
WITH LIGHT TRADEWINDS.

The outlook is for partly cloudy and warm weather

SLOWLY NORTHEAST PASSING OUT OF THE CARIBBEAN BY EARLY
FRIDAY THEN EAST OF 60W EARLY SATURDAY.

NORTHEAST TO EAST WINDS OF 20 KT OR MORE WILL OCCUR
NEAR THE COAST OF COLOMBIA THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

PATCHES OF MODERATE/ISOLATED STRONG CONVECTION ARE
OVER COLOMBIA.



Central Caribbean:

UPPER LEVEL ZONAL WESTERLY FLOW PERSISTS ACROSS THE
WHOLE BASIN.

LIGHT TRADE WINDS COVER THE CARIBBEAN SEA WITH PATCHES
OF BROKEN TO
OVERCAST LOW CLOUDS AND SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER
HISPANIOLA... JAMAICA...AND E CUBA.

STRONG SUBSIDENCE COVERS THE REMAINDER OF THE SEA.
WINDS WILL INCREASE ALONG THE NORTH COAST OF SOUTH
AMERICA BEGINNING LATE THURSDAY AND OVER THE CENTRAL
PART OF THE CARIBBEAN DURING FRIDAY AND CONTINUING
SATURDAY.

A FRONT WILL MOVE TO THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE TO BAY OF
CAMPECHE SATURDAY NIGHT AND WEAKEN. BY LATE SUNDAY
THIS WEAK FRONT WILL EXTEND FROM THROUGH 31N70W TO
ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA TO THE YUCATAN PENINSULA.

Central Caribbean:

EASTERLY TRADE WINDS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE BASIN
THROUGH SUNDAY. WINDS IN THE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN WILL
DECREASE TODAY TO LESS THAN 20 KNOTS AND INCREASE
AGAIN DURING THURSDAY.
THE TROUGH IS FORECAST TO MOVE TOWARD THE CENTRAL
CARIBBEAN TODAY...ENHANCING THE SHOWER/TSTM ACTIVITY
FIRST OVER HISPANIOLA AND AFTERWARDS OVER PUERTO RICO
AND THE VIRGIN ISLANDS. IT WILL EXIT THE CARIBBEAN
AREA BY EARLY FRIDAY AND PASS EAST OF 60W DURING
FRIDAY.

Eastern Caribbean:

A SWLY UPPER LEVEL FLOW OVER S AMERICA IS DRAWING
MOISTURE ACROSS THE LESSER ANTILLES.

PATCHES OF LOW-LEVEL CLOUDS WITH EMBEDDED ISOLATED
SHOWERS ARE SCATTERED ACROSS THE AREA DRIVEN BY LIGHT
TO MODERATE TRADE WINDS.

12N.

AT THE SURFACE...A 1015 MB LOW IS LOCATED NE OF PUERTO
RICO NEAR 21N62W. A TROUGH EXTENDS SW FROM THE LOW
ALONG 19N65W 16N680W. THE SAN JUAN DOPPLER RADAR IS
STILL SHOWING A BAND OF SHOWERS WITH ISOLATED TSTMS
JUST BEHIND THE TROUGH ALONG THE MONA PASSAGE. OTHER
SHOWERS ARE OBSERVED ACROSS THE ATLANTIC COASTAL
WATERS OF PUERTO RICO.

THE REMAINDER OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA HAS THE USUAL
TRADEWINDS WITH STRONGEST VELOCITIES AROUND 20 KT OVER
THE SW CARIBBEAN TO INCLUDE THE COAST OF N COLOMBIA.

A CLUSTER OF SCATTERED MODERATE/ISOLATED STRONG
CONVECTION IS ON THE PACIFIC SIDE OF PANAMA. ALSO
EXPECT MORE CONVECTION OVER THE SW CARIBBEAN AND COSTA
RICA/PANAMA DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

Central Caribbean:

A JETSTREAM WITH E PACIFIC MOISTURE EXTENDS FROM COSTA
RICA TO PUERTO RICO INTO THE CENTRAL ATLC.

MODERATE TO STRONG SUBSIDENCE IS OVER THE NW AND SE
CORNERS OF THE BASIN...INCLUDING THE WINDWARD ISLANDS
AND NE VENEZUELA.

THE TROUGH WILL CONTINUE TO ENHANCE THE SHOWER/TSTM
ACTIVITY ACROSS THE NE CARIBBEAN FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS
