Rashell [email protected] daughter and grandbaby were visiting and she was going to take a couple days off but would be checking email. She's usually in the office 6 days a week. She really helped us out alot and is a person of integrity!!! C

I definetly recommend visiting several times before moving. There are a couple of ex-pats I know who are happy there. Patricia, the massage lady in Placencia, is one of them. Things like medical care for you and your pet, language issues, (not so much an issue in Placencia and San Pedro), and just buying stuff (there's no Home Depot, not many big grocery stores, especially in villages like Placencia)will be issues. You just have to go there and check it out. Thinking about it, or fantasizing will not do the trick. My hubby and I have been there twice, going for a third time soon. We LOVE it there, but don't really visualize ourselves living there. It's an individual choice.

I noted that you are looking for an island.

There are several islands for sale in the area between Placencia and the barrier reef.

Contact: Steve Christensen in Placencia
e-mail: [email protected]

Steve deals in real estate, contruction, hardware/lumber store, handmade furmiture, etc.

I think he also has some personal property on cayes for sale.

Good Luck.

There are a few small cayes available and I am sure Sue & Charles would be happy to give you the scoop.

Would any of you have contact information for either Patricia the massage therapist in Placencia or any other massage/spa practitioner in the area? I would love to talk to folks in my biz who live/work in the area. Thanks!

Joneane
