i know, i know i have a lot of questions. i'm kinda just diving into this not knowing much. how hard would it be for a half way deicent (bad spelling) graphic artist to get his hands on a work permit?

To get a work permit you basically have to have a job.look at getting residency

Or you could do like Pedro1 and start or buy a business. Self-employment work permits are relatively easy to get.

How about if you`re an artist. Do you need a work permit or are you self employed?

You need a workpermit.

If you want to get a work permit as an independent artist (self-employed) that shouldn't be a problem but you will need to do that formally, i.e. get a Trade License and pay whatever fees are required.
