Oranges,

I last purchased the Sam's Club card approximately 6 months ago, since then I just add minutes at the same price over the phone with my credit card. The front of the card: "Sam's Club AT&T PrePaid Phone Card, 1250 Minutes, Within the U.S./International flat rates vary." There is a statement on the back: "International flat rates are higher than U.S. domestic flat rates, differ according to destination called and are suject to change." The card itself does not state 3.47 cents/minute; I think that was on the the little cardboard marketing board that the card was attached to. Of course, you can divide the price by the minutes to confirm the per minute cost. I hope Sam's still sells these; I recharged mine over the phone 2 weeks ago at the 3.47 cents/minute. Good luck!

Indygal said she intended to make occassional calls. Now, if she already belongs to Sam's Club, or has a desire to join, that would work. They charge, around my neighborhood $30 to $35 to join. Good deal if you are already a member. Not so good if you are going to make a short trip to Belize and join to use their card. I got the BZ card the last two years, made a lot of calls to work and family over three weeks each trip, and got it in under $50BZ each trip. Prior to that, I used my MCI card, and that really was high priced, maybe there is a better deal now.

It's only about sharing information and different points of view.

Indygal, klc's suggestion about Marty's tip is a real find. I wish I would have known about this before I went there.

One thing about becoming a Sam's Club member, it is useful for other things, in addition to phone cards.

and, from someone who HATES Wallyworld, the anti-christ of retail IMHO, I've even seen the cards in some of their larger stores, especially in areas not served by their big brother.
