Does anyone know of any volunteer oportunities in San Pedro?? Thank you for any help.

Page 14 of the current visitors guide provides the names and numbers for local non-profit organizations (http://www.sanpedrosun.net/05-20.pdf).

Technically you will need to be resident or have a volunteer work permit (they used to be $100BZ but with the changes I'm not sure now). Having said that anyone wanting to volunteer on their vacation should have no problem.

The work permit for volunteers, religious workers, etc. is now US$100.

How many countries require such a fee? Just curious as I have worked in quite a number of foreign countries over the years and never had to pay a fee, only provided any licensing documentation.

some countries require permits, therefore fees. Look, we pay for everything-everything(!) in the states and I have no problem paying a small amount to Belize as I can't put a price on what Belize has done for my life. That's the whole reason I even thought of volunteering to begin with-to give back.
