If you want to play hard, chill out, or do both, then you’ll find your groove at Robert’s Grove, recognized as one of the most luxurious resorts in the country, stretching 22 acres between the Caribbean and the Placencia Lagoon in Southern Belize.

Play Hard
There are a minimum of 20 named dive sites in the southern waters off Placencia. There’s the Inner Reef or Lagoon and the Barrier Reef, all bursting with untouched coral and abundant fish life, with fewer divers and snorkelers than elsewhere. There’s whale shark sightseeing, best during the months of April through June.

Stay at Ranguana Caye, which offers three cabanas with full bathrooms, with access to some of the best snorkeling and diving in Belize.

The Inn at Robert’s Grove is the only resort in southern Belize to have its own Fly Fishing Center, equipped to handle the needs from serious angler to novice fisherman.

Use a racquet at the Inn’s tennis court, do laps in one of its three swimming pools, do some cardio or lift weights in the Inn’s exercise room, or take advantage of the Inn’s fleet of canoes, kayaks, windsurfers, sailboats, hobie kats and bicycles.

Go horseback riding with an experienced guide at the nearby Little Hill Bill Ranch in San Roman Village, an 1,800-acre ranch with 10 miles of newly cut riding trails.

Go bird watching on Monkey River, hiking Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary or Jaguar Reserve, cave swimming at Blue Creek, exploring Mayan Ruins, or embark on other adventure or tour packages available through the Inn’s own activity planners.

Chill Out
Read a book or relax in a hammock along the Inn’s beachfront. Choose between two delicious and distinct dining venues - the Inn’s acclaimed fine dining Seaside Restaurant or the more casual Habanero Mexican CafÈ & Bar.

Rejuvenate at the Inn’s Sea Spa, with a full menu of pampering treatments including Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Four Hands Massage (by 2 therapists), various body wraps, facials, manicures and pedicures.

Enjoy one of the rooftop Jacuzzis, or order room service from the in-room menus to be served in your Beachfront Room, Oceanfront Junior Suite, Oceanview Deluxe Suite, or Grand Villa Suite.

Hang out at the Inn’s own private island, known as Robert’s Caye, about 10 miles from Placencia. On the island, there are four cabanas built half on the caye and half over the water (Bora Bora style). Each cabana has a king bed, full bath and stairs that descend from the cabana terrace right into the ocean. There is also a small restaurant and bar on the island, and complimentary beach toys such as kayaks and snorkeling gear.

Been there. Decent enough place but certainly not up to the hype. I believe they may, one day, become the resort they think they are.

Food is OK, but not great (like they claim). It's seriously overpriced, however.

Their dive operation leaves much to be desired with relatively unattentive staff, dirty boats and gear that is average (again, not up to their claims).

There are better deals to be had/resorts to visit. Don't believe all the advertising you read.

My opinions, based on experience.

We stopped at Robert's Grove to pick up some other members of our jungle tour group. It looked like a nice place if you want a traditional self-contained resort type experience....but IMO there are many better ways to enjoy the true atmosphere of Placencia.
