It was a beautiful weekend full of sunshine and balmy breezes for the Caye Caulker Lobsterfest 2006. Except for a few night time showers, the weekend was perfect. Here are some photos: http://www.auxilloubeachsuites.com/4mailings.html

Caye Caulker Lobsterfest 2006 was a huge success!

What started off as a rainy week with gloomy forcasts by the Belize Met Office gave way instead to blue skies and hot sunny days for the most part making it an excellent weekend of fun for the attendees. Occassional rain showers, mostly at night or at dawn dampened the grounds but not the spirit of the festival or its goers.

As has become customary, the Caye Caulker Lobsterfest attracted revelers and stall occupants from every district in Belize.

Lobster was available in every form, from delactable lobster shish kebabs to scrumptious lobster ceviche, to finger-licking lobster barbeque, to mouthwatering lobster salad, to lobster omelettes, lobster fritters and lobster pizza.

Sun and sea were also is high demand, as fest revelers swam, frolicked, and enjoyed the calm, crystal clear blue waters around the island. During the hottest parts of the day, revelers drifted towards the split hoping to find reprieve from the at times scorching sun. The Lazy Lizard Bar at the Split was at its best with its famous frozen drinks.

The island was a gleaming white as the sun shone on the white sandy streets.

Every hotel was booked solid over the weekend, making the festival a resounding success!

Happily, there were no incidents of violence of any kind.
