So I thought it was time to post a few pics from our trip last August. we are headed to Guatemala in April for Holy week and might stop back in San Pedro if we get a chance. We had a wonderful time. These are only a few of hundreds of pictures we took....

Our ride from BZE ...
Coming into San Pedro...

The pool at The Victoria House

Great view off our private deck...

Rolled over and took this picture in the morning. What a view to wake up to.

The happy couple...

Guatemalan woman selling fabrics on the beach. We bought a nice one to take home.

incredible photos... I want to be there. looking information. Considering retiring to this area. How remote? What is nearest large city? Want to purchase a lot and build on or near beach, or purchase existing home. Safety much a factor? Anyone with info please chat back. Thanks Rick..... deserthawk51@yahoo.com

The island is 35 air (or skiff) miles from Belize City, pop. 45,000 (?). Nearest larger city is Chetumal, just across the northern border in Mexico.
The island is relatively safe if you are comparing to a typical US city. Houselots are available close to town with utilities available for around US$35,000 and up. Use the search function at the top of this page for tons more info.
