can anyone tell me if there is any ongoing coco palm replanting going on for CC? <there was some talk of transplanting seedlings from other parts of the island after the keith wreckage.> i will be on CC june 22--30 and would love to help with planting! any info or contacts are appreciated.

i'm counting the days.

They haven't started yet, but plans are still underway.

Stop in at the Village Council Office - Lower Level, Community Center, Main Street - and see Mr. Fermin Marin (Chairman) about joining the 're-planting' gang.

If that particular project is not currently under way, the school may be ready for some new plants, or one of the children parks...

Hey, check with Ms. Neldi (Principal) at the school and organize a 'beach clean up campaign' with some of the kids..

Stuff like this is always welcome. The kids would be thrilled to do this, and hey, if that got an 'ideal' (frozen kool-aid) @ .25cents Belize each afterwards, they'd even be more thrilled.

It is visitors like you, whether you find a worthwhile project or not (this time) that make Caye Caulker a special place.

Could we help with the school rebuild project?? I have read that it is not finished being rebuilt from huricane. Is there something we could do when we get there May 27 - 30. My husband is a school maintance guy and I am an electrical design engineer. Please let me know.

thanks for the suggestions! i am a beach cleaner from way back and it would be excellent to hook up with some school kids. (i'm a teacher & even tho i can't wait for this year to be finished i know i will miss my kids as soon as i am gone!) i'll plan to check in at the school monday june 25....will school still be in session then? we do tons of gardening where i work, so planting or litter pick up or whatever is fine with me.
