My family and I are arriving at CC on Jan 14th... (so excited!). We have rented two houses on the south side of the island. I understand this is a ways from the "action" but wonder if anyone can give me any insight on staying in this section. Any help is appreciated! Thanks...

I had posted a message for accomadations at Loraines guest house, it is on the south of the Caye also. It is nice and Quiet there and only a 5 min walk to the main part of town and you'll see lots of restuarants and shops along the way. A good family restuaunt to eat at is called Marin's, another good place for the evening on the beach is Popye's Bar and Grill. You can get a water Taxi back to the mainland starting at 10a.m. at three different places,tickets are available close to the main dock. Have a great time! You'll love it there!

If you are staying in the south end you will not have any services in that area. You must walk or ride bikes into the village. At night you will need flashlights as there is no path lighting. Take lots of bug spray as well. It is quiet and peaceful there.
