I heard that if you want to work in Belize you don't need a work permit, just go to Caye Caulker because no one cares. Is this true?
I am a bartender by trade but I will wait tables if I have to, I have references too. Is it true though or too good to be true?

come on guys...i know the quick thought is it would be amazing to be in paradise, and be able to make enough money to party with and live off of, but please stop and think about this one. why would you want to take jobs away from local people who have to struggle there everyday to feed their families. it's one thing if you are a gringo who lives there, and needs money to live, but please think twice about trying to stretch your vacation with the local peoples' money. trust me they need it way more than you do. as travelers i hope all of you are concerned with the place you are visiting, and sensitive to it's people and it's struggles and needs. while it may be possible to land an under the table job in belize, is it really neccessary, and really a good idea? no. they need YOUR money. spend as much as you can and build belize. don't take away from it. just think about it.
