Looking for a little insight...heading to hopkins with the BF in October for a couple days for joint bdays. Need a CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP place to stay, that is still somewhat private, but mostly CLEAN.

Any tips?

REALLY nice, clean, full bath, AC - Sea view IF you get front room on top floor.
VERY REASONABLE
35 Magoon St., Southern Foreshore, 1 block east of main St--- 1 block west of post office.
We would stay there every year before going to Caye and on return.
Reserve early, they fill up fast as many of the tour outfits use them.

In Hopkins (as opposed to Dangriga, where Chaleanor is) I echo Tipple Tree Beya Inn. Also Jungle Jeanie's is great for the money. Also a half dozen or more Belizean owned budget spots on the water, not fancy but usually priced right -- just stop by and see which one appeals to you.

Last year we stayed at The Hopkins Inn for Garifuna Day. It was about $50 USD/night for a cabana for two. This included a continental breakfast delivered to our porch. Clean, comfortable, and nice owners with a cute dog!
