Word has been received that Uncle Lou (Reyes) of Caye Caulker, relative to the Bedran clan of the Cayo area, died and will be buried today. Uncle Lou was a cherished part of the Caye Caulker social scene. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

Sorry to hear about Uncle Lou, I spoke to one of his grand-nieces and they are having funeral services in San Ignacio but he wanted his body to be cremated and his ashes scattered over the reef in Caye Caulker so they will be having a ceremony for him in CC also. It is uncertain when the second ceremony will take place but Noeli from Rainbow Hotel should be updating the community on this. Uncle Lou was definitely a very popular icon on the island and very well known for him singing "Day-O" and also one of my Dad's dearest buddies

Our deepest condolences to the family, he will surely be missed!

For those of you who remember and loved her, Elaine Lenoir peacefully died in her sleep September 24,2006. She was the mother of singer Celeste Phillips and Carter's Grandmother.

Thank you, Marty and Natalie, for passing along the sad news. Elaine was a wonderful ingredient in the San Pedro community. I hope that Carter is in good hands. Bill

Hey Bill, when you coming home? We miss you.
Carter is with Celeste's brother David.Elaine was here staying at my home this last June, I'm so glad I had that time with her and she got to see so many people that she loved. I hope to organize a memorial service for Elaine in San Pedro soon, I'm open to any suggestions.I'm sorry to have interrupted the this thread about Uncle Lou, I didn't know how to start a new one.

Hi Natalie: I started a memorial thread for Elaine on the Ambergris Caye section of this website. Please announce plans for her memorial service on that thread. Curious to know if Estel and Charlie have been notified...they were friends of Elaine. They should be able to get the word around. Take care: Bill PS. I miss you all and hope to return to San Pedro within acouple of months.

Charlie and Estella were the first ones I called. Thanks for starting the new thread. I'm still working on a memorial service.
