We will be in Belize in Setp 2003...could you tell me where the tour that is offered by Carnival Cruise Line takes you on Caye Caulker ...and what is available to do there....

Also, we have a group going on the cruise and would like a project that will help the children...please advise if you have any suggestions....

well, it's not so much a matter of what's to do there as there's not much, and therein lies the beauty. yes, great snorkling is available but it's a teeny-tiny little strip of paradise that doesn't call for anything other than relaxing and enjoying. and please leave all cell phones, pagers, laptops, radios and tv's at home. go to The Split and have a few "panty rippers" and you have arrived.

Thanks for your note above, and especially your group's desire to do a helpful project for the children. You might want to take note of a message a few back on this message board entitled "Caye Caulker Elementary School Library Project needs your help!" We are trying to collect 10,000 relevant children's books, or teacher's resource manuals for a new library the school is in the process of building. If each in your group could donate a few books (even used Children's books from your local thrift shop would work), it would be most appreciated. Books are very expensive and hard to come by here.
