can you buy bait on the island?? if you can where??? Also wondering about the fish you get at the split, whats usually caught there, and is there another place on the island to catch some bigger fish...hows the new wharf for that??? Also seaside cabanas when will they be ready???

There is a small shop near the split, a block from the main waterfront street. They sell bait their. There is also a person who rents poles along the same stree, towards Changs. The several hardware stores sell hooks, weights and line. The split has lights on it at night. At night the tarpon roll in from the shadows and hit the small shiners. You can try for the tarpon but it is a catch and release fish by law. King fish were caught the nights I tried my luck. One night a nurse shark was taken and released on a hand line. I would not recomend a hand line for tarpon, if you ever had the fantastic luck to hook one that way ( just kidding!).
