Hi. I am wondering if there is any opportunity/need for elementary school teachers in Caye Caulker. I love teaching reading. My financial situation would not allow me to volunteer without pay. Any input or advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Thank you....Zahra

Thanks
OK-my email is banannaz@hotmail.com. I would need to know who is contacting me so the message does not get sent to junk mail, deleted or trashed because of an unrecognizable name.

I am an elementary teacher with 10 years experience teaching in California Public Schools.

Hi,

It would be nice for CC's school to have qualified teachers because honestly the ones we have now require years of further training. I have to end up sending my child to a school in Belize City because the school here does not have well equipped teachers so to speak if you know what I mean. NOt to discriminate them but this is true and I am sure lots of people will agree with me. Would be good to consider you!!

Why would you assume that this person is a good teacher just because they are a foreigner? They would have to get a work permit so they are not taking a job away from a Belizean!

To Student: Your comment illustrates the need for better qualified teachers! Getting a work permit will allow a foreigner to take a job away from a Belizean -- not prevent it!! The real answer to the problem in Caye Caulker Schools (and Belize in general) is proper training for teachers!! I agree with you that we need to employee Belizeans first, but better a qualified foreigner than an unqualified Belizean especially when the education of our children is the issue!!!

Dear Zahra,

You can contact Mrs. Enelda Rosado (Principal) at the School at Tel: 501-226-0164.

My issue is not to take away any jobs from Belizeans, I am just pointing out that the Teachers we have here just get a High School diploma and cannot even spell and think they can teach when they require further training. Our students need to be duly educated and they cannot be so if the teachers have lots of grammatical errors on the test papers and this will continue!!

Sorry to sound so rude but that is just the way it is!! Lots of parents are concerned about their children's educational well-being.

So just because this person is a foreigner thay are automatically a good teacher? There are lots of "bad " teachers in the States too!

I wished I would have had a bad foreign teacher than a "good" Belizean teacher.

Yeah ... I might not spell( HAVE NO EDUCATION BUT STIL I KEEP READING) correct but you might want to consider this:

1 Education - First is at HOME!!!!
2 caye caulker parents rather gossip at the Split or Ocean side than take time with their child.I personally have a drink than Teach :-)
3Time is great ... I think Every child is gifted with something. And there is where you should tackle.
4 Not All Caye Caulker Parents have money like you . If I have the moeny and Kids I would send them in the best school .If I know I can send .I would choice what I best for them and not complain!

Dear Life,

As you mentioned with parents having the preference to gossip at the local bars, I surely need to agree with you on that but I don't appreciate you showing disrespect. I am not trying to be rude, I am just trying to be fair because many parents go through the same dilemmas everyday with their children at the school and the issue with teachers not being grammatically correct when issuing test or even exam papers. How can a child be literate when the teachers aren't??

Thanks for your kind attention.
