Anyone out there been flyfishing around Caye Caulker or Placentia? We are heading down in 10 days and want some 'insider' on hooking up with a guide, what to bring in gear (if anything or maybe they will supply?) and where/when to go. Any direction and helpful advise would be most appreciated!

Google Kevin Modera for info regarding Placentia fishing. He has a very good web site.
I have never seen a very thorough source of info aout Caye Caulker fishing, you really have to look around a lot or infer from Ambegris sites.

Regarding Caye Caulker fishing. I am not
a "fly guy" but an avid fisherman.
Take all the gear you may possibly need.
Don't make any assumptions about the ability
to procure fishing items on CC other than
hook, line& sinkers ( for conventional gear).
Regarding guides, I used Piggy and
Charles Young. When I went out with Charles
he had a fly rod with him for his own use
but he never got a line wet. He did put
us on fish however, as did Piggy. I met
a couple who has been using the same guide for years and his name is Eloy. The couple
did both fly and spinning.
Best of luck
