I have been to caye caulker two times and stayed at da real mc caw once. it was mellow and modest with hammocks and ocean front rooms. Also much closer to the split than tree tops. on my first visit we inquired at tree tops and found the woman to be a little rude, but that was just our experience. I have a friend that stayed there happily.
either way you will love caye caulker. I am jealous.
