#220519 - 03/02/06 07:42 PM Chapel for wedding
Anonymous
I do understand that most people coming to the tropic dream of having their wedding on the beach, but not me! I want to be married in a little church in the tropics. Does Caye Caulker have a little chapel that would sufice?

Also, I read that the lobster season was over, would it be started up again by July? We plan on being in Belize from July 13th to the 27th?

We heard that Seaside Cabanas or Iguana Reef were the best places to stay while there, can someone elaborate for me! What are they like, quiet, expensive, classy, please any details would be helpful. As you can tell I am in the early stages of planning, but at least I have my dates already set. The actual wedding date hasn't be confirmed yet though!

Thank you,
Linda Hawthorne, so to be Linda Hawthorne-Palais

Hi Lidia:

There are several chapels on Caye Caulker, but two come easily to mind -- both religiosly affiliated. One is the Evangelical chapel located across from the Health Center and the other is a Catholic Chapel located near the elementary school.

Have you picked a wedding planner yet? We have wedding packages available which you can view at www.auxilloubeachsuites.com/weddings.html

Lobster season reopens on June 15th.

Both your hotel choices are excellent ones. Just do a "search" on this board for information about the hotels you are interested in. This board has a wealth of information archived.

Thanks and cheers,
Wendy Auxillou

Seaside Cabanas is a great place to stay, Bright yellow/orange in color it is livly and happy and upbeat. The rooms are modern some coming with a private rooftop with thatched roof and hammocks great veiws, right on the beach with the islands only swimming pool, a bar and nice gift shop. great location.

Iguana reef, great place as well, located on the back sde of the island, but only minutes away from the village, it is quiet and very relaxing, elegant, it has a wonderful grass lounging area were you can sun, swim and have cocktails served to you from the bar while you watch the sunset.
They are both simaliar in price I am not exact on this but around $100 US a nite. be sure to check with a wedding planner as there are requirments on getting married here, may I suggest Sally Gilham.

Hi Lidia,

My husband and I got married here on Caye Caulker this past May. It was, without a doubt, the most amazing day of my life. The planning, by way of Sally Gilham, was stress-less. I think everyone should do it this way!

Our family and friends stayed at Seaside Cabanas, which is right in the middle of town. It's simply an amazing place. Some of our friends stayed at Iguana Reef, which is also quite beautiful.

If you would like more details, or if you want to see some photos (flowers, restaurants, etc.) send me an email at jenat75park@yahoo.com

Good luck- you've made a fabulous decision!!!
