----so where does the water in CC come from? Only rain? wells? and the electricity?-----
We catch rain which was usually enough water with a little help from hand dug wells no deeper that foxholes for shower water.
Now they sell drinking water delivered for US$0.44 a gal and many folks aren't maintaining the 80 year old Cypress vats.
No pipes on the street. No sewers. Septic tanks. BEL makes power and sells it around 2-3 cents a KWhour. Not available past the airstrip in the South or on the North Island.
Southerners were annoyed that they waited 20 years and never got power, but now they are a wind/solar commmunity and don't want the wire anymore.
Those who believe a group of homeowners can join together and BEL will bring them the power always get a smile from those who already tried. Don't expect power anywhere it isn't already installed. This includes those who are close enough to throw a tied pair of sneakers off their balcony onto the wres. They can't get BEL to extend to them no matter if they are 30 ft away, without writing a very large check.
