I have a suggestion...

Talking ras about others whether it be based on experience, rumors or straight lies is a big part of Caye Caulker. Spats and snickers exist in real life so why not let it extend itself into cyberspace?

Why not create a "Rants & Raves" section in which you will be required to register to post, but also will have ZERO censorship? Then, as administrator, you can decide to move the questionable comments/topics over to the R&R section.

This forum serves friendly tourists, constructive locals and the bored, cynical, rude and the spelling/grammar challenged. I say give them all a section...

That's a great suggestion.

Any takers to start a new message board elsewhere for slander and the folks who get a high from that?

There is lots of bad on Caye Caulker and everyone, including new tourists, needs to know.

Agree this board should be written in a 'G' rating manner but at least leave the negative comments/feedback on as well. Let the people from around the world know about the real CC, not the so called'paradise'one- where everything is fair and beautiful and no one does wrong. People go to the trouble to find this message board to find out reality not the pretty picture the guide books paint. We all know, everywhere has crime and people have bad ways, just accept that it is on CC as well, don't hide it. I have been a reader of this board for some time and notice some topics that have been deleted should really stay, let the reader make up their own mind what they think and if they want to visit. I enjoy reading this message board including all that has been deleted of which actually gave me a good insight of the island.

these deletion seem to focus on character assasnations and obscenities which are posted by guys not from cay caulker.Glad to see them taken off and back to talking about both good and bad on cay caulker.

well it is very true there is sometimes things that are very rude, very insulting for some people, agresive, also great coments about people bieng rip off, bad experiences, people that are conartist,but this things are very useful for people who are looking to move to caye caulker. people who want to retire to now where to go and where not to go for advice. who more less to trust and will not rip you off.
for example this board is for every one to read the ones who don't live here caused the ones who live in caye caulker they now the real caye life style and people. but there are some warnings for people, that they should look into the ones who move here so they don't get rip off of thier money and i am pretty sure people will love to read about it before they find themselves in a deep whole. there is this one guy who save 20,000 us dollars on the buying of property caused of what he read on the board and the next day it was taken off. u now conartist riping off people here men and that is the first thing you take off which should be the first thing to stay.

like put it this way new keycaulker captain. you are sailor and have sail 3/4 of the world met bad weather conditions never broke or sink your boat. but when you come to belize no one told you that going to blue whole you can actually rip off your ship and it will sink if you don't now where to go and how to sail during day or night. then what you wish some one would have post that bad stuff that is outhere before you lost your million dollar boat. see this are the things that it should be look into. not hide the burn bottom part of the pie and decorated with sweet chocolate cream and make it look nice when deep inside when you get there it taste burn and sour and bitter. leave it peal and people to see and take off some bad like cursing and thing but the rest leave it it is good warning for alot of people before they get into trouble. i mean foriners coming to caye caulker caused local don't really care about this caused they now who is who here no they not going to get in trouble. locals now that the sardine that is gething fat here is caused they are eating baracudas and sharks already. so it is good warning for tourist not locals we now who is who already.
