Google has new maps of Caye Caulker. Much sharper than before. Can any of you tell when its from. I recognize some things from our visits but not everything I remember is there. On the other hand, I frequently have that problem
This is an awesome look and CC and AC, but I'm hard pressed to find any landmarks, such as my cousin's Pizza Place on AC...it's been there a couple of years and yet I can't find it so I, too, amd wondering how old these shots are. Any got any ideas?
thanks man that is SOOOOOOOO rad. once you get out of the town areas, its the old resolution. amazing to put it right on the resolution line and see how much better the new maps are.
================= The shots are still a bit out dated. You can see that the Legacy dock north of hustler still isn't in the shot and neither is Chuck and Robbie's dock. The Aqua Marina dock isn't in but Belize Bank is visible as is Pedro's Inn so the shots are within the last couple of years.
yes you can certainly see people on beaches and around pools in big cities. i was looking around cannes, france. theres a resolution line there too, and on the good side you can see people around the pool. individuals. you can't see their faces enuf to identify them or anything. you can see their shadows for instance very clearly. their clothes. i filled the screen with one car in new york
the TILT thing is when it gets really cool doesn't work in cities. but you get a sirta sideways view and it shows mountains etc very well
i notice a nice wide swath of the cayes from about laughing bird caye north to the cut on ambergris have new imagery. a little gap here and there like on ambergris the new imagery catches the southern end up to the cut then a gap then the northern end is covered. caye caulker is fully covered

I'm still curious how old this is for Caulker. It looks like Seaside doesn't have a pool. I can't make out the water taxi terminal at the pier, either.
AlJ: You're right, not only is there no pool at Seaside, but it is the old palapa hotel that burned down 3ish years ago. Hopefully this will get updated in the future, but it is a lot better than the old GE picture which had Caye Caulker mostly covered by clouds...
I can assure you that the image of Caye Caulker is at least 6 years old. I know this 100%. I have been able to tell where my former house is on the image, and everything that surrounds it in this image is no longer there...all has developed.
And based on the time I have been in the States, and the time I know for a fact that some things started being done on CC, I am confident that this image at least 6 years old...at least.
