Google has new maps of Caye Caulker. Much sharper than before. Can any of you tell when its from. I recognize some things from our visits but not everything I remember is there. On the other hand, I frequently have that problem

Its actually a download from Google. When you get to Google, click on More at the top. On the next page, on the left, click on Google Earth.

Its pretty impressive the detail they have. Its better in some of the city areas but impressive none the less.

This is an awesome look and CC and AC, but I'm hard pressed to find any landmarks, such as my cousin's Pizza Place on's been there a couple of years and yet I can't find it so I, too, amd wondering how old these shots are. Any got any ideas?

thanks man that is SOOOOOOOO rad. once you get out of the town areas, its the old resolution. amazing to put it right on the resolution line and see how much better the new maps are.

Look at one of the large US cities. My brother said you can see people on the beach in Miami.

#221102 - 06/12/06 02:28 PM Re: Google Earth

from a friend in san pedro

The shots are still a bit out dated. You can see that the Legacy dock north of hustler still isn't in the shot and neither is Chuck and Robbie's dock. The Aqua Marina dock isn't in but Belize Bank is visible as is Pedro's Inn so the shots are within the last couple of years.

I can see my golf cart parked out front!

yes you can certainly see people on beaches and around pools in big cities. i was looking around cannes, france. theres a resolution line there too, and on the good side you can see people around the pool. individuals. you can't see their faces enuf to identify them or anything. you can see their shadows for instance very clearly. their clothes. i filled the screen with one car in new york

the TILT thing is when it gets really cool doesn't work in cities. but you get a sirta sideways view and it shows mountains etc very well
