We are experienced divers who would like any recommendations on dive operators. Have heard good things about Amigos Deal Mar. Anyone have any comments?

I have had great times with coral beach, and will again in about 27 and a half days (yes i am counting down). the overnite live aboard is alot of fun-great crew, good food, awesome diving. you can book many different day trips through the blue hole dive shop.

We had a not-so-great experience with Amigos del Mar...We rented snorkle equipment from them in the morning, for our afternoon trip, and were told that they would pick us up by boat at our hotel dock, with our pre-paid equipment on board. We got to Shark Ray Alley, only to discover that they forgot my son's equipment, so he could not snorkle. This was especially disappointing because it was our last day in Belize and we had promised him this snorkle trip as a special finale. The dive shop did refund our money, but this was little comfort to a disappointed 10-year-old. Moral: Don't rely on a dive shop to bring the proper equipment...instead, carry on board yourself.

I have been diving in Belize many times with a variety of dive shops. My favorite is the Coral Beach dive shop. Especially, Tulu, Chico, and Horace. These guys have been in the business many years and are fun, safe, and full of interesting possibilities. The over night on the OffShore Express is a trip to be remembered. Tell them I said hello.

Amigos del Mar is a very reputable dive shop here in San Pedro. We highly recommend them.
