Not all computers have a firewire connection, but if you have it this is the fastest mode of data transfer.

Don't make the mistake of thinking back-ups don't matter. Hard disks in laptops are prone to total failure without warning after 12-18 months. Back up frequently, especially stored emails.

We finally got sense and got an external hard-drive and back up.

I also have available an HP Lightscribe external DVD writer (writes CD's and DVD's, and their labels so long as you use the right blank disks).

Used maybe 5 or 6 times, and now surplus to requirements. Not sure at present how much I should charge.

I can guarantee the condition of both these items - effectively mint.
