We have 4 adults traveling to the jungle for 2 days June 1st and 2nd after a week in Ambergris Caye. Can anyone help us choose between Chaa Creek, Hidden Valley, or Blancaneux Lodge?
Thanks!

Blancaneuax is gorgeous! I loved it. I have heard terrific things about Chaa Creek as well. I think of all three choices you would love all of them.

3 great inns. HVI and BL are in the Mtn Pine Ridge. BL has great cabanas (and two bdrm villas), varied menu, great thai massage. Swimming in the creek and hot pool.HVI is on a unique 7200 acre property with hardwood stands, 7 private waterfalls, 90 miles of trails, dramatic views, cottages with fireplaces, pool and hot tub. CC is in tropical foliage on the Macal River, orchard villa and two bdrm spa villa fine for 4 pax, spa, butterfly farm and natural history centre on premises. All 3 are great choices, but different from each other.

The people who own barefoot books Rob and Karen are working at Hidden Valley. They are a great couple.

(I have not been there I heard it was really nice. and website pics make it seem like a beautiful location)

Like Katie says, all are great in their own ways. Are you looking for any special amenities or activities? That may help narrow it down. Blancaneaux sells out very far in advance so availability may be a factor in your decision. Price wise Blancaneaux & Chaa Creek would be the most expensive, HVI a bit less. Also, if either couple is older or has trouble getting around, the Blancaneaux property is very steep with the cabanas perched along the hill side & lots of steps, Chaa Creek is very spread out, while the HVI dining/lodging area is the most compact with paved sidewalks between cabanas.

Thank you for your excellent posts. 2 of us are in our 30s and the inlaws are young (relatively :)) in their early 50s. They are fairly active so that will not be a limiting factor. My biggest concern is that after a week in a 2 bedroom villa (Ambergris Caye)with them that we might need a break. So I am hoping to maybe escape for a massage, etc.
Thanks again for the excellent posts!

The Spa at Chaa Creek is fantastic. Blancaneaux has spa services as well. Maybe you will want to get 2 separate cabanas at either place instead of a 2 bedroom villa for the last few nights. HVI only has individual cabanas, no 2 bedroom units so maybe that will help you decide! ;-) Easy to escape at any one of these jungle lodges...Chaa Creek would have the most dense foliage (ha ha ha!)

Thanks for all the excellent input. We have booked Chaa Creek - the Complete Garden Suite - which consists of two seperate rooms connected by only a door. There is a shared veranda and you can bet my husband and I will be staying in the jacuzzi room:). The place looks beautiful and all of your input helped me decide.
Thanks again everyone for your help!
