I have been to San Pedro many times and was wondering how other parts of Central America are, in particular, Honduras and Nicaragua, and Coasta Rica. I am wanting to expore and so far Nicaragua really sounds appealing but I am concerned about safety and ease of travel. Any one been any of these places?

I've spent a fair amount of time on Roatan, but that's about all I can speak to in Honduras.

Is there anything in particular you would like to know about Roatan?

If you go to Lonely Planet's website and got to the Thorn Tree FOrum, you can select the Central America branch and then look at what other travelers have to say about travel in different countries. It is a very informative and lively forum. I'd like to visit Nicarauga too! Not only beaches and jungles like Belize, but volcanos too!

Seashell -- I tried to send you a message but it says your mail box is full -- any way -- would non divers like Rotan? Is it more developed than Ambergris? I saw pictures of the airport and it looks large and had a paved road ??

The airport building is about half the size of the Belize City airport. There is only one runway that is along the shore. It is near Coxen Hole. Other than some similarities in the baggage claim area, they are not that alike.

You will leave that area to get to your hotel, wherever you decide to stay.
