I have a great Creole book called Belizean Creole which was super hard to find, good book if you can get it.

Creole: Di tiiga cooda maga but e cockey tarry.

English: The tiger could be skinny but he still is strong enough to eat you.

Moral: Don't let the size fool you.

Some consider this "raw creole" and older version of Creole that hasn't been diluted with recent influences in an ever changing Belize.

*FAVORITE* "YOU DAH SMELL YA TOP LIP"

....whenever someone says they smell something nasty, particularly a fart, you respond by telling them that they are smelling their own upper lip...hehe...gotta love it...

MORE FAVORITES:

"BAHN ROAD" -- burn road--> let's go!!!
"STOP YOUR RAS"--stop your bullshit, lying, tricks, etc.
"NO TRUE?" -- used constantly, kind of like "isn't it so?" or "don't you think"
"MI NO DE PON DAT"-- that's not something I'm interested in, I'm not into that, etc.

"CHOOOOOOHHHHH"-- an expression of shock, concern, excitement, kind of like "whoa..."

"WE DA WE AND WHO DA COME AFTAH WE DA WEE-WEE" -- basically, whoever comes after us are second place to us--or worse the "WEE-WEE" ant, which is that shitty ant that bites and carries lots of plant material (aka leaf-cutter ants)

Pretty much everything I am saying here has been said to me at one point or another by my husband or kids who I used to teach...I am fluent in Creole and could go on and on and on about favorite sayings--

The best & most complete book on this was written by Doctor henry Anderson (about 15 yrs ago). At the time, It was available at his drug store in Dangriga. Dr Anderson now resides in the states. Good luck finding a copy but worth the effort
