This board is wonderful!Planning first vist to AC Sept 6-13.Asked for and received info on Seven Seas Resort, thought just my husband and I were going, but now my mom and sister want to join us,which is great, but concerned because(from the info I've read) the Seven Seas only has air conditioning in the bedroom, and mom and sis would sleep on the sleeper couch in the living area.(Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong in this!)Now looking into Paradise Villas. They have some great tour incentives if you book over the net(we are going to veg,but mom and sister want to tour)and it appears that their entire condo is air-conditioned).Not to down-play Seven Seas, but since we are now a group of four, and from what I have read in various reports through Belize First(great resource, thanks!)sounds like Paradise Villas is more what we are looking for.Love the proximity to town of both hotel/ condos, but would like some honest opinions. We may even opt to have two separate rooms.Want a kitchen, oceanfront rooms and a pool.Any comments, pros, cons welcome!Again, thanks for all the info we have gathered, and appreciate your comments.Mary and Scott Martin

Dear Mary and Scott,
My family and I just got back from Ambergris on June 5th. We stayed at the Tradewinds Paradise Villas and we thought they were marvelous. They have lovely two bedroom units and two of them are oceanfront, the rest look over the pool etc. They are air conditioned. Yes, the rates are great!! Belize Tradewinds Travel Agency owns them, and if you use them to book the rest of your travel arrangements, they give you a break on the cost. They are on the internet. The villas have fully equipped kitchens, with blenders, toasters etc. Very nice for making tropical drinks with the local fruit and sitting out by the pool. Not that you would care, but they also have cable TV. Good for that occasional rain. We had two teens with us, and it was nice. The grounds are beautiful. They have night security, and if you rent a golf cart to get around the island (most people do) there is even a little parking space right outside your unit. They have laundry service and of course maid service. They can book any tours for you from the office, but we found that if you go directly to the tour operators, you can save $10 to $15 per person. The tour operators come right to the Paradise Villas dock to pick you up. It's conveniently located to town. The girl who runs it is named Marki, and she is a doll. She even had cases of beer and soda in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. (We requested it) I thought it was a wonderful place. Just email her. (tradewinds@btl.net) She's good about contacting you. My son got an ear problem while there, and she even arranged for a doctor to see him. I didn't have one complaint!! Debbie

On the air conditioning, I believe all the units at Paradise Villas owned by Belize Tradewinds are completely air-conditioned, but that at least a few of the other units (individually owned) have A/C only in the bedrooms.
