We just returned about two weeks ago. We hiked in the jungle and went to Tikal. Apparently, we were there at the tail end of the dry season, and the rain and clouds had started the last two days of our trip. The mosquitos were not bad at all, but we were told that once the rainy season starts they get worse. I talked to an archeaologist and some scientists who are working on an excavation, and they all take it religiously. We too, traveled with teens and we thought it was better to be safe than sorry. We all took it. The scientists told us that if you ever get malaria, you'll wish you were dead. So I was glad I did!!!!!
