You'll see them around there, even in the grounds, but there's no need to be concerned.

Every once in a great while you will see saltwater crocs around one of the piers but I've never heard of an attack. Not lately, anyway.

Les,There are Crocs on the lagoon side of the Island near White Sands Cove, There are also a couple (maybe three or four) living in the private lagoons between the path and the sea 1/4 mile south of White sands where the white houses with the red roofs are. The Crocs (luckly) are afraid of people so they will rush back into the lagoon as soon as they sense someone approching. I have personally driven a cart very close to one and had to wait for him to move out of the road. Be aware of your sourondings while on the Island as there are no signs to tell you where they are.
I have never seen or herd of any on the ocean side in that area and I walk north and south of White sands alot when I am there on the Island.

I've seen crocs in the grounds of WSC, but 2MNOC is right - they're far more afraid of us than we are of them. Usually. I had a moment's concern once when I was cycling back from the north at dusk - it gets dark quickly here - and found a large croc stretched out over the full width of the road, except for a small gap near its head. I elected not to pass close to that end and went back. I had a very dark stumble along the beach instead.
