A colleague of mine visited early Feb. this year and is still talking about how the kids tied a frozen chicken to a string and brought the crocs up to shore by BEL plant for the price of the bird. He said one kid touched the 9 footer on the snout. I read him the riot act about how foolish and dangerous it is to engage the animals, especially having the little kids do it!
But by being there you encouraged this dangerous and illegal behaviour.... then you go back home and leave us with the problem of hungry, aggressive crocs. Thanks a lot!!!
Take a pictue if you want (from a distance I suggest) than leave them alone. Givin enough time. Those who feed or tease them will eventually get bitten or worse. Leave nature alone, You are on their land, Respect them. They can find plenty of food in the lagoons on their own.
If you want to see crocodiles in a manner that is safe for our community, safe for you, safe for the animal and legal; go to one of the croc parks on the mainland or go to the zoo. If you want everyone who lives on San Pedro to think that you are a complete and utter idiot, go and watch the croc feeding on the island.
Amen to that 2miles and collyk. Its a tragedy waiting to happen. Jesse, I wasn't there, it was a friend of mine who was visiting and told me about his experience. I have always tried to steer the kids and tourists away from that anytime I've driven by and seen it happening.
