Well, the whirlwind California trip has come to an end. The country side was beautiful and the wine was great! Thumbs up to the Cedarville winery, a small family owned and worked winery. They paid special attention to their grapes and wine making and it showed. Their Grenache was a full-bodied white, while their Red Cab was excellent.
Another impressive wine was the Montevina Barera.

I was actually able to make it back with 5 bottles of different wines, unscathed. Now, lets see if I can let them age for a while!
I expect one will give up it's life for the sake of the rest real soon! Maybe I can age it to this weekend! laugh

Kudo's to the hostess with the mostest..........Law. Great guide and safe driver! But as a pool partner........ ha! (I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with my pool stick if I tried!) LaurieMar, you rock girl! But you have to leave those yams alone!

San Francisco is an amazing city, the architecture is really awe-inpiring! Fisherman's warf is a must-see! Not to mention the clam chowder and sourdough bread is a MUST eat!

I will be going back as I still have to ride the trolley cars and do more sight-seeing! CA, is truly a beautiful state, with a lot to offer. I know this isn't a trip report on SP, but CA is a trip to take if you have the chance to go!

Thanks again for the great time! Oh and remember this girls....
"NO PINKIES" ALLOWED!!!!!! laugh wink

Some folks "wish they all could beat California girls" - I admit we are a hard act to follow (LOL), but DCG can hang with the best of us! They also say happy California cows make great California cheese - all so true. What they don't advertise are the great vegetables we have! LOL. The veggie of choice on Saturday was of course, a big yam! Those roadside veggie stands are something else, huh?

Had a great time in beautiful Amador and El Dorado Counties, tasting great Zins, Barberas, Syrahs - so much more laid back and less crowded than Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

Glad you had a great trip - next time its farther up the hill to beautiful Lake Tahoe and the land of the one arm bandits!

Absolutely - just say no to pinkies!!!!!

The really bad thing about SF is that once you try the sourdough bread, you are hooked on it. And then you leave, and you find that everywhere else just has "sour" dough bread. Different entirely.

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt
