Staying at a resort on North Ambergris with guests for wedding in December. If possible, we are interested in chartering a private water taxi to be available to shuttle us back and forth between resort and town on our own schedule- do not want to rely on limited water taxi schedule at resort. We are interested in chartering for 8 days- looking at first week of December.

There is no lack of boats for charter, you should have no problem at all but it may be expensive, I would ask your resort first if they have a boat they could set aside for your group. Contact the Dive Centers, resorts near where you would be staying. San Pedro has its own water taxi service on Fidos dock. You need to check with outfits that have several large boats they would be more apt to have one to let go. You would have to use thier Captain. The first week in December is not yet high season. You need to think just what you want. If you need an uninterruptable "on demand" service in both directions you're going to need at least two dedicated boats, possibly more. Unrealistic. If you can decide what service you actually require you may find that the Island Taxi can meet your schedule, at a cost of course. I can't find if they have a website or email, but their local phone number is 226-3231.

Thank you- i was considering setting a schedule- drop off and pickups times- for the 'private' taxi. I am expecting that our busy time for going back and forth will be in the morning and the evening, so more frequent shuttles possibly in the morning & evening hours would be suitable.
I'm sure we can find a middle ground where we can have enough shuttle times to suit everyone's needs while not overdoing it and keeping the cost reasonable.
