Green & Black's chocolate isn't ordinarily on sale in Belize, but you can sample and purchase it at the Toledo Cacao Festival this May at the opening "wine and chocolate" event, and there are also tours to the organic cacao plantations.

The Festival is being held in Punta Gorda and the Toledo District from 18th to 20th May (Commonwealth Day holiday weekend), and you can find more information at the Festival website - www.ToledoChocolate.com - or email [email protected].

Funny. One of the leading chocolate shops in England is called "Thornton's". Any connection?

Well, I can't imagine Thornton's grows cacao in England. Maybe it gets its beans from Belize.

I am tempted to look up the history of the Archbishop addicted to chocolate. He explored Central America in the Colonial days...saving souls and pigging himself with Chocolate. Any hep here??

I keep hoping that someone will reveal a source of G&B chocolate in Belize. The Lebanese supermarkets bring goods in from England (Waitrose) - couldn't they perhaps also bring in some G&B?

Every time my friend in Cali sends me a box he includes chocolate of all different types. Much of it I feed to the band, (like Dan really needs the sugar, lol) but the Ghiradelli I hoard in my fridge for those moments of weakness.

Yummm, I love chocolate too. Probably one of my biggest downfalls in the diet department of my life.

That and Chap burgers at the Tackle Box.

Amanda - speak to Andrea (the pilot). She has several bars of different varieties of G&Bs that I brought back for her in February, and when I last heard they were all still intact. Perhaps we could arrange a (small) chocolate tasting evening?
