What?

Where?

When?

Who?

One of the most exciting events of the year that culminates in the Reef Festival at Mar De Tumbo Beach.

Enquiring minds need to know.

BUT - where are the details regarding the Eco Challenge which starts tomorrow morning?

Where are they leaving from?

What time?

Who will be the official start?

That's the stuff I would like to see posted.

lol! I don't think the paddlers even know the answers to those questions. There should be a meeting tonight for all the participants but I don't even know if they have a time or place for the meeting yet.

I was told by Elito that they're leaving from the backside by the old football field. Gathering time is 5:30am, don't recall the start time but I think it was 6:00am last year.

This is the 3rd annual Reef Eco Challenge. Elito Arceo of SEADUCED came up with the first challenge and had Green Reef along with the Peace Corp. workers help organize it. The last two years it has been done in conjunction with Hol Chan.
Elito's original idea behind this race was that he wanted an event that was athletic and challenging, but also gave people the chance to experience and appreciate the lagoons, mangrove and ecosystems they support. He has always loved that area and thought this was a great way for other people to see it.
The entire community has been crucial in making this race a success. The volunteers and donations have been over whelming. There will be a complete list of sponsors and volunteers available on Monday.
I would like to say that Elito and Kirah Foreman have been the two that have really been the ones that have made this race happen this year. They have spent countless hours raising money and organizing every aspect from food to support crews.
