I know, another question. What would anyone say are the three most important articles of clothing besdies the obvious swimsuit, shorts and snadles are to bring. I am only planning on leaving for one day trip to Lamanai. Otherwise I will be ON THE BEACH.

Take plenty of sunscreen, with a high number.
Good walking sandles, to tour San Pedro and all the good restaurants and shops. Shirts and shorts will just fine for everywhere. I took bug spray, but never had to use it. But I would always take some to be safe.

You really think a high number? I already have a pretty good base tan. Is the sun that much more intense? What about a poncho? Do you know what the weather islike right now? Weather report has been saying partly sunny with showers for three days in Belize City. Anywhere to check the weather daily on AC

YES you DO need high SPF. I went with a friend from Phoenix who had a good tan and she burned worse than me and my sheltered mid-western butt. Put it on and re-apply often. And don't forget the back of your neck and ears when you snorkle.

Oh, and you will need bug spray with a high percentage of DEET when you go to Lamanai.

Mamaliz, you went to Lamanai? Please tell me how you liked it and who was your guide. Do you think a small poncho for spurts of rain is too much?

June I took a poncho, but never needed it, good to have just incase. OH YES sunscreen
we are from S. Texas, Hubby is really tan, and one day he thought he did not need that sissy stuff, and guess what he burned. I am a pale face, and used the sunscreen and did not burn, but tanned nicely. Neck ears and forehead, really need protection.

I brought a sarong and had fun wearing it. You will need bug spray if you go north or south of town in the evenings, I got bitten. I put on waterproof spf 30 in the mornings and then did not reapply. I also brought a hat and still came back very tan.
