Most newbees have no idea about boating off the shores of AC....I would never try it on my own......hire a good guide of you want to go boating!

Seems that somebody put a catamaran sailboat on the reef this week near Half Moon Caye, Not good to navigate in those waters at night.

Some local knowledge, a lot of common sense. Too many boaters (here) have neither.

cfalexan, We boat to the north of the island several times during our frequent visits. I always study the waters each time and I find that it will take a LONG time to learn where the coral "rocks" are located. They are all over the place up north of the island. I would not (at this time) venture on my own much past Journeys End. And at night... "Forgetaboutit". I'll leave the driving to my local friends or take the Island Ferry. I am amazed how the local captians can manage to navagate to the resorts far north at night without incident. And sometimes without running lights eek But thats a whole other issue crazy

I'm looking for boaters in Belize who may be able to assist me in locating my parents who are somewhere down there on their boat. It is a 42' Trawler named "Song of San Francisco". They left Cozumel Mexico around 4/26 and we have not heard from them since. Typically they will email or call once a week. I have not had any luck yet determining if they ever checked out of Mexico or into Belize. They were not planning on going to Belize City but to the out islands. Can anyone help me find them?

All...we finally heard from them late yesterday afternoon! They arrived safely in Guatemala. Thanks to everyone for their input and kindness.
