Ok this might be really stupid - but I feel like I've read so many sites and don't know if I missed it. but are there NO taxi/cabs on the island. So if you don't rent a golf cart/bike - then basically whatever area you stay at is where you hang or take a VERY long walk??

As long as you're south of the cut. No taxis north of there, other than water taxis.

I thought there was a golf cart taxi north of the cut. No?

&nbsp &nbsp Tamara,
there are probably too many taxis on the island. But there's nothing wrong with a long walk. I hoof it all over the island, myself. Often, friends will give me a lift. A bike is a good way to get around. The road up north is pretty rough after the rains, so I've bounced along up there on a quad. Overall, I prefer to walk, though. Remember, you'r on Island time, so take a stoll and get there whenever you get there. If you're tired, stop into a pub and make some new friends over a cold Belikin.
