Belikin Beer seems to be the thing down there. We'll have to try it out before we go to see what it's like. Do they have any domestic beer like Budweiser, Miller or Coors? My husband and I are beer drinkers and although he's always game for new things, I'm a little partial to Anheuser Busch products. Can you buy them at the store?

Our domestic beers are their imported beers and they are sold at premium imported prices. Some are available. There are two kinds of Belikin...the preimier sold in green bottles and the regular in brown bottles. I am not a beer drinker, but my husband is...he is also a bud man or miller. He prefers the regular Belikin over his bud or miller and definately over the green bottle Belikin. We cannot get it at home, so when we are down their a couple times a year we tru to bring some home. Enjoy

I recently priced Budweiser in the Brodies supermarket in Belize City, and one can was BZ$5.35 -- that's about US$2.18 for one CAN, not one six-pack.

You won't find Belikin in the states for the same reason you won't find much AB product in BZ. Not to fear, as long as you stick with the REGULAR Belikin all will be well. The Premium brand is awful. Expect to pay 2x US prices for distilled spirits in AC, unless you want to try the BZ brands. After a few days we end up with the local stuff, even though everything has a slight coconut taste. DO NOT TRY THE BZ GIN. It will ruin you forever. Czar Vodka isn't too bad if you are desperate. Be sure to run it through a coffee filter to remove the "flecks".
Drink Belikin and have fun.

we liked the belikin when we were there 7 years ago, and even brought home some nifty belikin drinking glasses we bought at the airport on our way home. however, i remember a rum called "cane juice" that we liked a lot better... is it still there too?

Hubby is a martini man, with gin. IN SP he drank the local rum (gold) and really enjoyed it. I favored the Belikin beer. Both were great for a change of pace.

The dark Belikin beer is like Guiness Stout and will knock your socks off!!! (If you like dark beer) They still have those beer glasses at the beer distributorship. Bought two sets. They were very cheap and a wonderful addition to our bar. About 4 0r 5 styles to choose from.

By the way, Bowen & Bowen has announced that they will begin exporting Belikin to the U.S. But first they are upgrading their brewery for additional capacity.
