I'm so sorry that the information about Jerry McDermott passing was lost under a heading of "Sad Day for San Pedro." Yes it is sad to loose one of our outstanding personalities. Jerry always waved me into this smoke filled office with a lighted cigarette in this hand. He regaled me with stories about gardening and many times told Miss Cherry to give me a few of the beautiful lobster claw ginger flowers (Haliconia Rostarada) that he brought in the first of every week.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him for the San Pedro Sun section "Woman on the Beach" and he was delightful.
Jerry was one of the people of San Pedro who always made me feel at home here. I will miss him.

I so agree with you, Scubaldy. We met Jerry on our first trip down, and managed to speak with him on almost every trip after that. He was always a gracious wealth of information for us. We will also miss him terribly.

Deepest Condolences to the family, Corry and Janet, and to his huge extended family. He's with Mervino now. . .
