If you don't already have windows in place or if you're replacing windows then consider calling Bennys on 227 3347. They carry Weathershield Visions 1000 and Visions 2000 windows/doors. Double glazed, outer pane is laminated storm resistant glass.

No need for expensive and unsightly hurricane shutters.

Weathershield are great windows. Resistant is the key word.

thanks for your help everyone. I already have windows but some need repair because of leaking and one for replacing. I need hurricane shutters mainly, don't want to mess with plywood every season.
