We are flying from the US to Belize City and then on Maya Air to San Pedro.
The question is do we pick up luggage in Belize City to hand carry it to Maya Air?
And if some....please give details on where we go after we pick up our luggage in baggage claim.

airport is quite small - baggage claim is steps away from both immigration and departure area. just follow what everyone else is doing. you can't go wrong...it is painless.

You pick up your bags at the carousel, walk through to customs - either the declare or nothing to declare line. You will then ask where Maya Island Air is - you turn to the left into the terminal not out to the right where the street and parking lot are. You will be directed from there.

There are porters if you have a lot of stuff. I think the fee is a $1US per bag.

Don't worry, it is easy.

And it is a FEE - even if you tote your own bag they expect you to pay it. They will even follow you and ask for it.

been trough that airport about 40 times and carried my own bags every time....never been followed or asked to pay a fee....must be lucky i guess.

Don't forget to have a Hot Dog and a Beliken At Jet's Bar while you're awaiting the flight to SP.
