It's a black drum, I do believe.
When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

It is, indeed, a black drum from Houma, Louisiana. The guide with me in Danny Ayo (a true Cajan Coonass)He is without a doubt the best salt water flats guide anywhere between Corpus Christi and Miami. I now have a "T" shirt that says "Coonass Wannabe". Going back as soon as the heat breaks for 50# one on a fly. My small one was only 24#. Wish me luck. OH BTW,, CComming to AC in November for Bone Fish. And, this is what I tied the fly on.

Convergence of a Hillbilly and Cajun is a volatile mix. Congradulations for the nice catch...how much did that cost per pound?

Bill, I'm told that hillbillys make good Coonass' with the right tutelage. And this is truly a volitile mix which usually manufests itself into an obsessive adiction to salt water flats fly fishing. And the price is no object,,,, until you ask my wife. So;; here it is;;; 1/2 the bill for gas, motel, guide for 2 days, groceries etc was $650. So the per/# cost was about $27.08. But look at it this way, If I get the 50#er next time the cost/# will be about half. Now that is encouraging HUH?

Bll, one would think that fellow from St Louis would recognize a woven, extended body, Green Drake, tied on a #16 scud hook. But, there you go, not everybody is qualified to fly fish. LOL,, LOL,, In reality I caught the drum on a McCrab fly that I tied on a #6 salt water hook. BUT,, you can believe it,, I did build the fly vise I tied them on. KUMON Cold front,,, KUMON November. This 100*/90% crap is killing me. I need a trip.
