After almost a year's absence, I'll be going down (possibly with my parents in tow) to A.C. in Jan-Feb. I want to take my parents off-island one day, but preferably for a day trip.

I know my dad would love to see the mennonite villages and the village of Sarteneja. I've done it a few times, but always driving straight from Corozal.

Now for the question: Has anybody ever taken a day trip by plane from A.C. to Sarteneja? It'd sure be a lot easier, but I don't see but one a.m. and one p.m. flight for the whole day. At the airstrip, are there any taxis? I was thinking if there were, perhaps I could fly over in the a.m., ride up to Little Belize, Cerros, etc., then come back in time for the p.m. flight. I have gone by plane and by boat. Tropic Air can arrange to drop you on the 7 am flight and pick you up on the 5:30 back. You can go overnight on Thunderbolt. They will stop on the way to Corozal.You may be able to get a driver for the day but you would need to arrange it in advance . I am not sure who could do that for you. Or hire a boat and captain for the day and take the 2 hour boat ride, hang around for the day and come back. That is really so much fun.You can stop the boat in Cerros and check out the ruins, cruise a bit down the new river, swim with dolphins just as you round rocky point-mainland.
