We will be going to AC the last week in January and first week of February and are really looking forward to it as it will be our first trip there.

We are basically going to relax, enjoy the beach, swim and snorkel a little and generally enjoy the "laid back life".

I've spent a lot of time going over the various web pages, that list restaraunts and am interested in what anyone might have for recommendations as to good places to eat. We love to go to various different places but they don't have to be fancy. We like to try local foods and are willing to try almost anything at least once!

Also any information that you could share about the general prices for drinks would be a big help. Again, we have always liked trying local drinks ( beers etc ). The various other places we have visited in the Caribbean have all had very good local beer - any hints would be appreciated.

Generally any information for some "newbee's" would be well received.

Thanks for your help.

On page 2 there's a thread on "Restaurants that serve good local food." I printed it and will use it as a guide for my trip in November. good luck.

Hi I have been watching this board for more than a year, and I think every restaurant on ambergris has been mentioned, as very good food, and prices vary. In San Pedro I
selected Fido's Reef Restaurant Island Cusine Mickey's Moncho's Elvi's and the blue front bakery on Middle street for coconut tarts, a must. Many upscale restaurants north and south. We thought the food and drinks were more than reasonably priced, friendly good service.

set the drop-down menu near the top of the page to see longer than 20 days and you will see a lot more threads, including lots on restaurants.

or use the search button and search by 'restaurant' theres a lot in here on good eatin'!

Two kinds of Belizean Beer Belikin Regular and Premium. Have some fun deciding which one you prefer!
Local rum/ cane juice liquor is the bargain.
Watch out for Rum in half filled brown bottles - it is concentrated!! It is used for making rum punch! Prices vary $2.00 - $15.00. Belize it!
