After lurking here for a few weeks and reading all the great info on AC hubby and i decided to spend our vacation there alas not until Mar. though hope i can wait that long...Anyhow finally chose Banana Beach for our stay..can someone enliten me as to how far from town we are can you walk from BB?? thanx (196days to go)

Walk the beach front not the road.

Long legs: About 15 minutes to the Sunbreeze/Airport
Medium Legs: 20 minutes to the Sunbreeze
Short legs: 30 minutes and you'll want a taxi back ($5 BZ)
(If an island dog is chasing you subtract 10 minutes from the times..except short legs...you won't have a chance. Just kidding, the dogs are fine.

We'll be there the end of March, wave just before you go by the hulking, stinking, polluting barge.
(bearded, grumpy looking guy with the funny blue colored drink, and pretty good tan).

Thanx Choo Choo will note walk the beach not the road.....but what if you have one long leg and one short leg with those beach dogs chasing you down????Uhmmm....Whats that blue stuff in your glass btw??? I am looking forward to trying some Beliken (sp) I hope they taste as good as caribes....

Wave the short leg at the lead dog and use the long one to make great strides.

That would be equal parts vodka and gin with a splash of Blue Curaco. A little tricky, but really gives the mood a lift. Belikin is probably a little milder than Caribe. We are partial to the original Belikin, not the newer stuff. You also aren't drinking as much as you think..the Belikin bottle is about 11 ounces. (It also requires it's own huggy, complete with zipper..available locally for a small charge.)

I like Mebe have been checking these boards out for information. I now am hooked, you all are quite entertaining as well as informational! My husband and I will also be traveling to Belize for the first time in March. We haven't made any reservations yet as I've been gaining info from all you as to some of the wonderful places to stay and play. You all have me so excited though, I'm not quite sure I can wait that long. Keep up the useful info as I'm sure I will have ?'s in the very near future.

Okay choo choo that blue drink sounds like a blue hawaiian minus the pineapple...and yes it does alot to improve mood this i know I am going to have trouble remembering about the leg thing though....shake the short at the head dog and run like hell with the long ) As for the huggy maybe i can call ahead to the hotel and have them in our room upon arrival.....but they have zippers!! don't know if I like that are there any without zippers????

So your planning on going to AC too I must admit after reading this crazy bb your curiosity is peaked Seriously sounds like just the place for us.....Who knows if your going in Mar and we are too and Choo choo is going to be there maybe we can all get together for a drink...

Oh Oh! Here goes that having a drink thing again. Last time that started it turned into a raucous discussion about my inability to remember the timing of BC's BBQ. Be there 3/27 to 4/5 2001. Have about 8 couples going this time.

Thanks for bringing up the timing issue again. Charlene thought my inability to remember when I eat and drink in their bar is not unusual (for me). We will be at the BBQ Sunday October 29th, with our regular traveling companions and 4 newbies. Why don't you join us? There! Work on that!
