I have been reading many posts new and old, and I have found several references to the need for a bakery. I own property in Corozal and my family and I are looking for a needed business so that we could establish residency and make enough to live a simple life in a beautiful country. I know most of you chatting here are on centered around the cayes, but what about a bakery in Corozol that delivered to SP a few times a week. I have two outstanding bakers in my family that are interested in coming with me. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi ahahn I would go and test the flour and eggs and such they are very diffrent. A good crusty bread that is soft in the middle greatly needed. But do your research on ingredients. Aslo a good rye and whole wheat bread.

San Pedro has had its own French bakery for a month or so now, Sean Bachet having let his most senior employee in Cayo take over the business there while Sean and family moved here. They're renting the Hacal Kiik premises and producing really good bread and pastries. But his rent is very high and Hacal Kiik is a bit hidden, so he's struggling in these early months. To make sure he makes it through to high season please spread the word that his products are REALLY GOOD and worth a slight detour from your usual itinerary. You can see the airstrip apron from his front door so it really isn't that far off the beaten track.
