Electricity was off this morning while crews did final adjustments on the lines and replaced the odd tottering electric pole. It's back on now. Things very much back to normal in many ways. Today will see a lot of folk returning to the island so the ferries and flights will be pretty full as they bring folk back.
So, here's the situation as I know it: Water is on Electricity is on, but adjustments being made so some power cuts inevitable over the next day or two. TV is on in most parts Phone/DSL Internet is on in most parts Roads are all open and very passable on the south side. The "road" that runs by Reef Village north of the bridge was still under water yesterday afternoon but there is a strong drying breeze and lots of sunshine so it should drain and dry off pretty fast.
Journey's End Resort thankfully has sustained minimal damage. They had some damage to the greenery and beach eriosion. I think they may have some dock damage. That is what I have heard so far. Thanks
Thanks for the update on Reef Village! I just wandered across the forum here and we recently bought one of the soon-to-be-built villas, so we were concerned on how Ambergris Caye fared the hurricane. Good to hear Jules has already contacted some of you!

So it sounds like "minimal" damage done to AC??? Could someone post in summary what exactly was damaged and how much??? Any buidlings lost???? Piers??? How is the weather and conditions all around AC/BZ???? Thanks for info.......C
warm and a bit breezy today. the sea beyond the reef is still a bit riled up it appears. sun is out and the sky is fairly clear.
yesterday we took a long walk down the beach from about 9:00 to 1:00ish. it was cloudy and a bit windy, but nothing severe. it was warm - we all ended up getting a bit of a sun burn because no one thought to put sunscreen on.
