I hope someone can help me on this

I am using windows xp and somehow my rotate picture option got disabled and I need to fix it asap.

When I unload my camera any pictures that are portrait cannot be rotated to be views correctly and they just stay sideways when I try.

Sounds like the day when I hit the wrong button and my entire desktop went sideways. Everything operated properly but I had to turn the monitor on its side to make it work.

Sorry Tacogirl - I'm not too well versed on these matters.

Now your making me laugh.
There is a way to set/restore your computer to a previous date . hopefully a date before the problem, you won't loose any files ,i promise.
Want to try?

Hit 'Start
then go to 'Help Support
then pick a 'Task
'the systems restore'
pick a date about last week.
it will take a little time to shut down and reboot but it wipes out [#%!] ups and you don't loose files.
[#%!] ups is a tech term it means mistakes

The two places I go to rotate are in the folder I keep pictures in and I right click on pic and go to rotate option

The other place I go is through windows picture and fax viewer when you double click on a picture and it brings it up bigger sized and that has the arrows to click on.

I tried the ctrl k and l Sin no go.

Not ready for a restore just yet Elbert.

When I installed camera hardware I kept getting the pop up saying if you rotate this picture you may lose some clarity (something like that) and it offered the option to stop that pop up every time it is then that I had the trouble.

I am trying to get the school blog up for after dean and this is a thorn in my side right now.

Yay a net friend on Colorado hooked me up...

Open one of the pictures you can not rotate by double
clicking on it. (Simply viewing it as a thumbnail or film
strip won't work). Now hold down the 'ctrl' key and
click the red 'x' button (i.e. close button) top left of
the image. The PC will then ask you words to the effect
of 'are you sure want to reset all image rotate settings?
Say yes, and voila problem solved.

I was going to suggest restarting in safe mode and doing it from there. Amounts to much the same thing - the images were locked by a software application. I've occasionally experienced it myself. When did you last check for viruses and check your registry?

That is something i should to Pedro2 I use avast antivirus so it is always running but I was thinking recently I should do a bit more.

After doing the fix my friend gave me it just confirmed that I was the one who clicked the wrong button and created my own issues ha ha.
